TiTum Audio Privacy Policy
Updated 13 October 2026. This policy covers the TiTum headphone app, titum.audio app services and support provided by TiTum Audio. Contact info@titum.audio for privacy questions and requests.
The current account-free app controls compatible headphones without creating an account or entering a VIP code. Older published versions and previously created accounts may still use legacy services; removing accounts from new versions does not erase existing legacy records.
Headphone control and required app services
Bluetooth permissions allow the app to discover, connect to and control your headphones. Firmware version, hardware family, active profile and, for Original headphones, the headphone serial number are read locally for compatibility and control. The app does not upload the headphone serial number as usage statistics.
The app fetches the product catalogue, profile images, firmware release information and, on supported desktop builds, app installer information from TiTum services. These requests necessarily expose network request information to our hosting provider. Profile switching uses headphone commands and does not send your music or audio content to TiTum.
Local settings, cached profile images and firmware compatibility checks support the requested service. Bluetooth or nearby-device permissions are requested by the operating system. Android Bluetooth discovery may require location permission on older Android versions; the app does not request GPS coordinates for usage statistics.
Optional app usage statistics
Before collecting optional usage statistics, the app offers Accept and Not now. Both choices allow headphone functions. Statistics stay off until you choose Accept. You can change this choice in Options → Usage statistics.
If enabled, TiTum receives app openings, visits to Options, profile change requests with the selected profile ID, firmware update start/completion/failure actions, device platform, app version, receipt time and country inferred from the internet connection. A random app-installation ID links these events within that installation. It is separate from the Firmware Burn Test Device ID. The server stores a hash of this ID rather than the original identifier.
These statistics are used to understand usage, profile popularity, platform compatibility, firmware update reliability and countries where TiTum is used. They are not used for advertising or tracking you across other companies’ apps or websites. The statistics contain no music content, precise location, headphone serial number, contacts or user account details. The app does not request GPS access for statistics. A persistent installation ID means these details are pseudonymous, rather than anonymous.
TiTum does not store the raw IP address in the app statistics tables. Cloudflare infers a country when receiving the request. Hosting security and operational records may separately contain network request metadata.
Retention and withdrawal
Aggregate totals without app-installation IDs are retained without a scheduled expiry to follow product trends. Installation-level activity is retained until you withdraw consent, request deletion or it is no longer necessary for the purposes described above.
Turning Usage statistics off stops collection immediately and clears unsent usage events on the device. The app requests deletion of the installation’s raw server events and consent record. If the device is offline, it keeps only the information necessary to retry that deletion when connectivity returns; previously received server details cannot be erased until the request reaches the server. Aggregate totals without app IDs remain.
A hashed withdrawal marker may be retained for up to 14 days to prevent a delayed request from restoring withdrawn consent. It is not used as a usage statistic. Switching statistics on again creates a new random installation ID.
Uninstalling or clearing app data removes local settings but does not automatically notify the server. Turn statistics off before uninstalling to request server deletion.
Firmware Burn Test programme
Burn Test is a separate, restricted service for approved New Hardware installations. A random Device ID is created for the app installation and can be copied from Options. It is used to check whether this installation is approved for an enabled test round, obtain the designated test file and record verified completion, including the test round and completion time. It is not the headphone serial number. The optional name shown in the approved-device list is entered by the programme administrator.
This information is used to administer the requested firmware test and prevent repeated or unauthorised test offers. It is separate from optional usage statistics. Changing the Usage statistics switch does not add or remove Burn Test approval. Programme records are retained while needed for the active programme and support; request removal at our support address. Firmware files are checked for compatibility, size and digest before use.
Service providers, website and support
TiTum uses Cloudflare to host the website and app APIs, store catalogue images and firmware files, and maintain these service records. Infrastructure may process data outside your country. Applicable safeguards and service-provider terms govern that processing. We do not sell app usage statistics.
The website has its own traffic and section-reading measurements, including page views, referring sources, country and device categories. These website measurements are separate from the app’s Usage statistics choice. Owner pages use an essential session cookie for authenticated administration. The newsletter/Tuning Lab forms process the information you submit for their stated purpose. Shopping and external links may be governed by the destination service’s privacy policy.
If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include to respond to your request. Send only information relevant to your issue. Operational, support and legal records are kept as needed for the service, security, dispute resolution or applicable legal requirements.
Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection to processing, data portability and withdrawal of consent, or complain to the relevant supervisory authority. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. We may need reasonable information to identify the records and verify your request, without asking for unrelated information.
The simplest way to stop optional app statistics and request deletion of the current installation’s details is Options → Usage statistics → Off. For other requests or legacy accounts, email info@titum.audio. See our data and legacy account deletion guidance.
We will update this notice when practices change. Any new optional purpose requiring consent will be presented before collecting data for that purpose.
